Mojang Scroll’s final year

Roughly a year from now, the collectible strategy game “Scrolls” will be shutting down its servers for good. Finally launching last December after beta testing since 2013, Mojang (now owned by Microsoft) revealed both the news and its final plans for development on their website this morning.

In short, “Scrolls” will still be “available for purchase for the time being”, while any proceeds or excess money will be used to keep the servers running as long as possible past July 1st, 2016. The Echoes update, released at the beginning of June, will be the last add-on for the game. While there will not be anything new, Mojang has promised to still “keep a close eye on game balance.”
