Deep Silver drops Yager as Dead Island 2 developer
Deep Silver has announced that they will no longer be utilizing the developer Yager for their project, Dead Island 2. Being in mid-development, they do plan to pass the project to another company. Being so far into the development process, it’s interesting to see who will take the job and how they plan to move forward. It’s easy to assume that Yager must have missed a milestone or two considering the recent delay into next year’s window.
In a recent note to Game Informer via Facebook, Timo Ullmann, the CEO of Yager, stated that “YAGER and Deep Silver’s respective visions of the project fell out of alignment, which led to the decision that has been made.” As of now, Yager will continue working on their next title, Dreadnought, which they say is coming along very well.
