Game Critics Awards ‘Best of E3’ Winners Announced

The Game Critics Awards, an association that gathers the best and brightest editors (known as judges) from different video game publications in order to answer the burning question of “who won E3?” have released the list of winners for this year. These awards detail what the judges thought were the best games and hardware across several different categories including ‘Best of Show,’ ‘Best Console Game,’ ‘Best Action Game,’ etc.

Some interesting nominations this year were Horizon: Zero Dawn for best of show and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam for best RPG. However, as usually happens, the winners of these awards were not new and exciting properties or franchises, as you will see below. They were almost universally comprised of big budget sequels. There is nothing inherently wrong with this, but it would be nice to see some lesser known games get some recognition on such a large stage.

And now, for the full list of winners. A breakdown of the nominees and other info can be found at the Game Critics Awards website.
