Divinity: Original Sin 2 Seeking Funds on Kickstarter
Larian Studios has announced plans for a sequel to 2014`s fantastic Divinity: Original Sin and are seeking relatively moderate funding via Kickstarter.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 will play similar to its predecessor, a critically acclaimed top-down RPG that was lauded for its deep turn-based combat, rich story, and freedom given to players in how they approach both the open world and combat.
The sequel promises new elemental interactions with the environment, new crafting and dialogue systems, and “skill crafting” which will allow players to combine two spells to create new ones. An example given is a combination of a “rain” spell and a “grease” spell that creates flammable precipitation. Additionally, 4 players will be able to play cooperatively.
Larian Studios is funding the majority of the project, but is turning to Kickstarter in hopes of being able to add a few more features to the game. All funders will receive access to the game’s alpha and beta testing stages. Larian Studios’ goal is $500,000 and in a very short time has already hit the $400,000 mark.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be out for PC, with an estimated release date of December 2016. Check out the Kickstarter page here for a detailed explanation of the game, its systems, and features,
