Quantum Break – Release Date Confirmed

GameSpot just confirmed Quantum Break’s release date of April 5th, 2016. Remedy–the same developers Max Payne and Alan Wake hail from–finally set a date for their Xbox One exclusive, time-warping adventure, Quantum Break. It was originally slated for a 2015 release, but was pushed to the end of their fiscal year in 2016 to make way for AAA titles Halo 5: Guardians and Forza Motorsport 6.

The narrative takes place 17 years after a failed time-travel experiment implodes.  In the fiasco, protagonist Jack Joyce, obtains time-altering abilities a la Marvel Comics and uses them to repair rifts in the space-time continuum, which, if are left to unravel, reality as we know it will cease to exist.

Taking a page from Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Jack can stop, slow down, or speed up time either in a general area, or on an enemy. This includes inanimate objects stuck in a time-rift, which Jack can use as battering rams against heavier-armored combatants.

This will be another Xbox exclusive I will need to purchase the console for.
