Castle Crashers Remastered Comes to Xbox One Next Week

The Behemoth announced that Castle Crashers Remastered will be available September 9th on Xbox One. This improved version of 2008’s hilarious 2D arcade beat-em-up will cost you a penny short of $15. However, if you own the Xbox 360 version, you will get the game on Xbox One for free up until September 20th. Once September 20th passes by, owners of Castle Crashers on Xbox 360 will still get a discount on the Remastered Xbox One version – it’ll only cost them $5.

The Xbox One version of Castle Crashers will come with a few new upgrades. Larger texture sizes, 60 frames per second, and better performance should make for an even smoother and snazzier game. The Behemoth is promising better online connectivity as well as a new multiplayer mini-game called Back Off Barbarian.

If you want to go back and play Castle Crashers again but simply don’t have the cash, Behemoth will be releasing the original game via Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility, although it won’t have any of the upgrades that the Remastered version will have.

The Behemoth are known for their quirky and fun games detailed with hand-drawn art. Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, and BattleBlock Theatre are their biggest hits, but they have worked on a few iOS games as well. The next game they will release is a turn-based adventure game that we recently found out is named Pit People.
