Ubisoft Theme Park Is Under Development

Ubisoft’s latest company project aims to bring the immense worlds of their video games to life.  After the award-winning success of the Rabbids Time Machine Ride at France’s Futuroscope park, the designers at Ubisoft Motion Pictures have teamed with Malaysian theme park developer RSG to coordinate an entire park based around the games produced by Ubisoft.

The “next-generation” theme park is scheduled to be officially opened in 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, a city in southwestern Malaysia (the second-most visited country in Asia).  Senior VP of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, Jean de Rivières states that the 10,000-square meter indoor complex will offer the opportunity “to immerse people in reactive worlds where they can interact with each other and become the heroes of their own life-sized game.”

While few details have been shared regarding the actual rides currently under development, Rivières also mentions that all digital media for the rides will be designed and produced by Ubisoft themselves.  This large-scale, real-world concept seems an appropriate setting to usher in a new form of immersion to gamers and theme park patrons alike.
