A new Bioshock game is in development

Some very surprising news for Bioshock fans was revealed earlier today when it was announced that a new Bioshock game is confirmed to be in the works. According to Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take Two Interactive, the new title is currently being developed by 2K Marin. After the release of Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2, Ken Levine, the creative director and mastermind behind the Bioshock series, and his team at Irrational Games disbanded and delegated the development of any future Bioshock titles to 2K while stile retaining all intellectual properties to the franchise. As such, Levine will not be involved in this project, but gave 2K Marin the green light to begin development on this upcoming iteration.

Zelnick has also stated that Bioshock will situate itself as a “permanent franchise”, but will not see frequent releases. As of now, there are no details about the game’s plot or any information about a potential release date. Considering that the franchise has been met with critical acclaim and accolades, let us hope that this next installment does not stray from the thought-provoking and immersive narratives Bioshock is known for.

I live in Southern California and I am a college graduate who enjoys playing video games both new and old. However, I am a very selective gamer and I tend to play games from my favorite genres most of the time, but I am still open to anything that peaks my interest. What games I can review or provide editorials for is mostly dependent on whether I can afford a certain game and if I have an opinion about the game that I wish to express. Anyway, I intend to contribute general gaming news and reviews to Cynosure Gaming as much as possible in order to inform, entertain, and unify gamers of all kinds.
