Ubisoft Delays Rainbow Six Siege Open Beta

Rainbox Six Siege’s open beta was supposed to start today, but has been delayed due to matchmaking issues. As we previously reported, the beta was set to run from November 25th to the 29th, serving as one final test of the game’s online capabilities before its official release on December 1st. However, Ubisoft is facing some technical difficulties with the game.

From Ubisoft’s website:

We’re currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms. As such we’re postponing the Open Beta until a later time and keeping the game under Closed Beta status. We apologize for the delay and can assure you this is our top priority. We will keep everyone updated regularly as we continue to deploy improvements.

Rainbow Six Siege is releasing in just six days for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, so the news of Ubisoft’s technical issues are very disconcerting. Making it even more problematic is the fact that the game has no campaign mode, but rather is online only. Hopefully this issue is just a speed bump on the road to another fantastic Rainbow Six title.
